Baccarat Protocols Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be at their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the 'banker,' the 'player' or for a tie (these aren't actual individuals; they merely symbolize the 2 hands to be given out). 2
