Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards of a value less than ten are of their printed value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly represent the two hands to be played).
2 hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand is the total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven … 5 will have a total score of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card can be given out depending on the foll. regulations:
- If the gambler or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has five or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores is the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have money still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay out 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a terrible bet as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Avoid betting on a tie. Regardless odds are certainly better – nine to 1 versus 8 to 1)
When done accurately, baccarat offers generally good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about every games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Keeping track of prior results on a chart is a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most common and almost certainly most successful strategy is the 1-three-two-6 concept. This technique is used to build up payouts and cutting back risk.
commence by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
