Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under ten are valued at face value meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly portray the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 will have a value of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given out depending on the following rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or nine, the two players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie typically pays eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. However odds are supremely better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)

When played properly, baccarat provides pretty good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Staying abreast of prior results on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful technique is the 1-3-2-six scheme. This scheme is deployed to boost successes and controlling risk.

Begin by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
