Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are said to be worth face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely represent the two hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and 5 gives a total of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be given out depending on the foll. rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or 9, both gamblers stand.

- If the player has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie generally pays 8 to 1 and occasionally 9 to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are actually better – 9 to one vs. 8 to 1)

Played accurately, baccarat offers fairly good odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future results. Staying abreast of historic outcomes on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most established and probably most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 technique. This technique is used to boost profits and controlling risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
